“6 month full-time opportunity with possible extension for the right candidate

LX is offering an exciting internship opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven final year engineering student with a passion for learning new skills and gaining hands-on experience of the product development lifecycle, specifically with system testing.

Reporting to the Software Manager and working closely with the engineering team, you will:

perform automated and manual tests to ensure the software created is fit for purpose
solder and perform electronics rework
basic electronics and component level debugging
use oscilloscopes and other test equipment for debugging and analysis
analyze users stories and/use cases/requirements for validity and feasibility
conceptualize, prototype and develop custom solutions to meet client, customer or internal requirements
collaborate closely with other team members and departments
perform all levels of testing (System, Integration, and Regression)
design and develop automation scripts for review by Product Development Engineer
detect and track software defects and inconsistencies
provide timely solutions for the review of the Product Development Engineer
apply quality engineering principals throughout the Agile product lifecycle
provide support and documentation
interns at LX will be involved in tasks that align to the business needs at the time which may include –
design, code, integrate test, support and enhance software solutions for embedded microprocessors used in wired and wireless communication devices, switching power supplies, sensors, and gateways
perform system integration and validation testing activities, including verification of interoperability within an overall solution
assist with evaluating existing and emerging technologies to identify solutions that will reliably operate in wide range of installed environments
architecting, developing, integrating and delivering embedded and PC software in a regulated product development process
participating in all project life cycle phases – from design and code development through unit testing, documentation, and release
working with a broad team to translate customer requirements into the best possible solutions within a resource, time, and technical constraints
rework of devices
Other tasks as required.
This role would suit someone who is/has:

final year Bachelor of Electrical/Electronics Engineering or similar student
enthusiastic and committed to learning and innovation in all aspects of the role
excellent communication and listening skills
highly organised, able to juggle multiple tasks with an attention to detail
able to understand concepts quickly
ability to solve complex problems
A versatile and flexible approach, happy to support the Software Manager and engineering team in the diverse range of engineering projects.”
